Intelligence committee initial report fails due diligence test

A congressional intelligence committee report based only on the initial  information reported by the agency which is being investigated, without independent corroborating evidence, and consideration of alternative explanations, is a failure of due diligence by the committee. A higher standard of care for the final report should be expected from this committee for it to live up to its name.
